Business Start-Up Schemes - Staffordshire University Graduates

The Business School at Staffordshire University provides comprehensive Start-Up Schemes for all graduates and alumni (from any Faculty) which offer you the chance to be your own boss, and take charge of your financial future.

Are you a graduate or alumni of Staffordshire University looking to start your own business full or part time?

If so then one of our Start-Up programmes could be for you.

We provide comprehensive support to turn your business ideas into a commercial reality by giving you the skills you need to run your own company.

  • Business training and development seminars - equip yourselves with the skills and knowledge required to launch and establish your  business
  • Access to a business mentor programme - a series of one-to-one meetings to access specific guidance and support to develop your business and keep it on track
  • Networking opportunities and benefits - opportunity to promote your business, establish yourselves in the region and to potentially grow the business   
  • Business Club - a regular networking event with themed business talks
  • Newsletter - a regular newsletter with SME focussed articles and news
  • Support from the Entreprise & Entrepreneurship team
  • Business grant - to give a financial boost to your start-up company

    In return we are looking for those who have:

    • An innovative business idea with a proven market need for your product or service
    • The ambition, determination, time and creativity to make your idea happen
    • The ability to show the growth potential of the business  

    The Scheme is open to EU residents only and the business must be set up within the West Midlands.  Please note that our schemes are currently ONLY open to people with pre-start ideas, you cannot trading at the time of application (and preferrably not have registered your business).

    PLACES CAN BE APPLIED FOR ON AN INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM BASIS (teams of up to 4 people)
